Clallam County voters will consider a library levy lid lift on the April 28 special election ballot. This is the first time in 16 years that the Library has asked voters to restore the levy rate to keep up with rising costs.
Nearly 90% of the Library's operating budget is funded by the local property tax levy, which is limited to 1% annual growth unless voters approve a measure to reset the rate.
(Capital projects like the Sequim Library construction are not funded by the levy.)
